What makes Chapel en-le-Frith C of E VC Primary School unique?
“Learning for life “is our school mission statement. This runs through the very core of everything we do here at Chapel. We have an open door policy where parents and children alike are encouraged to discuss any issues that arise. We are dedicated to celebrating each child as an individual and their many gifts and talents.
Chapel is a Voluntary Controlled school. This means that we work in very close connection with both the Local Authority and the Diocese of Derby.
As a Church school we embed the Christian ethos right through the very core of our day to day lives, lessons, Collective Worship and the quality of our relationships.
The children speak highly of their school, and the staff that work here, and are proud to be associated with it. They enjoy the responsibility asked of them and set a good example to one another.
Collective Worship is a daily act in our school. We gather together, children engage and enjoy a selection of stories, hymns, time to reflect and occasionally lead prayers. All the staff attend, take part in our daily worship and lead worship. We work hard to inspire the children. We sing a range of songs, some religious some secular.
Lessons are engaging and encourage children to take risks and challenge themselves. Teaching and learning are at the centre of all school improvement. Teachers work hard to deliver exciting lessons that ensure children make good progress in all lessons. Constant evaluation is undertaken. This is all part of the improving provision here at Chapel.
We have links with the local Methodist church here in Chapel. There is a strong, supportive relationship with the vicar and church community. He visits the school both to lead Collective Worship and support the school. The children lead worship in the Church. This is another opportunity to celebrate the Christian Ethos that underpins everything we do in school.
We have a very dedicated and hardworking Governing Body who are all committed to working hard to continue the School Improvement. They help to lead and manage the school and ensure that the children are well looked after, achieve good results, make good progress and most importantly enjoy school and gain maximum pleasure from a broad and balanced curriculum.
The children are at the very heart of our school. They show respect for each other, the staff and our lovely school environment.
Every Child Matters here at Chapel and we aim to develop the very best from every child that we have the privilege to educate here.
